a new baby

My sister-in-law and brother are expecting their first baby April 14th. Kinsey is so excited about the new baby. Periodically, she tells me that she has a baby in her tummy like Aunt Jane.

As we get closer to her due date, we discuss the new baby more and more. It was decided a few months ago that Kinsey would feed the new baby, but I will change it's diapers. I told Jane that we will have to watch Kinsey very carefully after the baby is born because only she can take good care of a baby!

Kinsey is 4!!!

Today is Kinsey's 4th birthday. She says that she doesn't feel 4, but can run faster now that she is 4. She was running through the house in her pajamas this morning laughing out loud. She is so excited to be 4 years old, but it makes me a little sad.

I took a cookie cake to her pre-school today to celebrate. The kids sang Happy Birthday and she loved it. It reminded me of the time my brother, turning 2, wanted us to sing Happy Birthday over and over. I remember watching the home video and Randy is beaming. A bigger smile you would be hard pressed to find. There's just something about that song...

Here is a picture of her class eating the cookie cake. Yes, she is crying. When I asked everyone to look at me, she started crying and said, "It's my birthday, they can't look at you!" That's why half of them are looking at me and the other half at her. I love that all the girls are looking at me, but she clearly has all the boys under her powers because they are looking at her!

She was so upset by everyone looking at the camera, I asked everyone to look at their cookie and here's what I got...instant smile. Cracked me up.

After the cookie, she read a story to her class. I think we may have a future teacher on our hands.

Kinsey's 4th Birthday Party

Kinsey turns 4 on March 31st. She had a Hannah Montana party at McDonald's today with a handful of friends. During the party she asked me if she was 4 now. I guess she's right, we're celebrating and having cake, she should be 4! When she was younger I used to ask her if she would stay little for me and she always said yes. Today I reminded her of that and she said, "Mom, I can't stay little, I have to grow bigger."





This was during the happy birthday song. She was so happy to hear her friends singing to her!

Here's a picture my friend, Brook, took at the party. I'm not sure how they ended up standing like this.

The last four years have really flown by. Yesterday she wanted to look at the pictures from when she was born. Both kids laughed at this one. Trace says he was poking her in the face. As I remember it, he was tickling her cheek.

This prompted Trace to want to see the pictures from his birth day. I love this picture. It was taken right before we left the hospital.

T-Ball

Both kids are playing t-ball for the first time this year. Trace has played soccer and basketball, so now he's branching out. They both seem to really enjoy it.

Trace's team played in a pre-season tournament last weekend and played really well. They are going to be a very strong team! He has been playing at the pitcher's spot, third base, or first base.



Check out those long legs! He looks so cute in that uniform I wish he could wear it everyday!!!



Here are a few shots from Kinsey's first practice. Her team: the Power Puffs. Their jerseys are hot pink. I know everyone wants to know, so yes, she did pick flowers during practice.

Her glove lights up when you catch the ball. I wasn't sure she'd be able to hold the ball one handed! She's so little, but so darn cute out there!!!

Here she is trying to knock the cover off the ball. She had an amazing time at practice. She can hardly wait for the next one!

This morning our neighbors, Ella and Eric, came over to play. This is the first time Eric has come over without his mom. Poor guy, I don't think he has a say in anything he does when Kinsey and Ella are around! He did LOVE playing in Trace's room!



Here is Eric shooting the dinosaur while Ella sings him a little song. Yesterday Kinsey and Ella dressed him in a beautiful pink tutu. I thought his dad would appreciate this picture.

Kinsey thinks she has to 'help' Eric all the time. So sweet...she loves him!

This is from Kinsey's first t-ball practice. She had never swung a bat before stepping up to the plate. We were all pretty impressed that our little princess has quite the little swing!
