Not Shakira

Kendall Paige made her grand entrance on June 9th. Her due date was June 21st, but since Kinsey was 10 days early, my doctor agreed to induce 12 days early. It was a good guess, because it turns out she was coming to meet us that day, anyway!

Sweetness

I only included this one to prove that I'm a good sport. My tummy did make a nice little table.

She was born at 6:48 pm on Thursday, June 9, 2011
weighing 7 pounds 15 ounces, 20 inches long.

Such a proud big sister!

Trace absolutely adores her. As they wheeled her from the delivery room to the nursery, he walked next to her, a hand on her bassinet the whole way.

Here she is on the day we came home from the hospital. She was 2 days old.

The best kids on the planet! They are so in love with her. They each hold her every day and want to feed her as often as they can. When we brought Kinsey home from the hospital Trace was not quite 3, so it was survival mode for all of us. This time around it is so nice to watch them interact with her and enjoy their little sister.

Definitely a blessing.

Please excuse the puffy eyes. It was 4:30am. And the messy kitchen. Although, I have no valid excuse for that.

Kindergarten Graduation

Here is our proud little graduate with her teacher, Mrs. Antley. She loves, loves, loves school. She had perfect attendance this year and I think she would continue to go through the summer if someone would just unlock the door for her. She comes home from school and makes projects on her own. Her homework was assigned on Mondays and due back on Fridays. But we had to do it on Monday. Every week.

 

A Dream

If all goes according to plan, baby #3 will be here Thursday, June the 9th. The kids are so excited. Although, I am pretty sure I am the most excited of us all. It will be nice to roll over in bed again without breaking a sweat.

Trace doesn't have too much to say about her arrival. He is excited about having another sibling, but I think he is more realistic about how much our lives are about to change.

Kinsey woke up Sunday morning and had dreamt about the baby Saturday night. In her dream, I "had the baby on Tuesday and it was perfect. And you and the baby came to school and ate lunch with me. The baby was a boy. And he was brown."

Woops.

A Good Place to Be

Next to playing a video game or watching cartoons, this is Trace's favorite place to be. He loves to ride and will for hours on end.

I love seeing him on a horse.

Go 'Stros!

Did anyone notice the strange thing happening in this picture??? I'll give you a hint...check out the guy in the white shirt and it really doesn't happen often. I didn't notice it the first few times I looked at it. I'll give you the answer at the end.

Trace had Perfect Attendance this year and the Astros gave him two free tickets for it! So we upgraded to four and went to the ballpark for the day. Both kids are so into baseball right now they could hardly wait to go. We got there in time to see batting practice before the game. It was a very long day of baseball. But it was fantastic. One last little family outing before "Baby Daisy" joins us.

It seems like Kinsey and drama just go hand-in-hand. We were watching batting practice and Kinsey got her finger caught in the chair. She whined a little, someone employed by the Astros overheard, and up roll the paramedics. Of course. They had to fill out an incident report and gave her a little bag of ice. I asked if she would be getting her Oscar along with the ice bag...Looks painful, huh?

That's Hunter Pence playing right field. According to a friend of Trace's, "he should definitely make the All-Star Team this year because he's legendary." Good to know.

Did you figure out the rarity in the top picture??? Chad's not wearing sunglasses!!! It finally happened. A normal picture, where no one is posing with her leg sticking out, or giving it the double thumbs up (ahem, Trace). Mark it on your calendars, people.

9 Years

Trace turned 9 at the end of May. It does not seem possible. He celebrated with an Army sleepover. If you notice the flashlights on the table, they had big plans to play lazer tag after dark, but we made them play outside the entire time they were here and they were way too tired to play outside after dark.

Kickball! Even I got in on the action this time. I kicked while Kins had to take a potty break, but I had a ghost runner. Turns out my ghost is very, very fast.

Here is my new favorite picture of him. We are singing Happy Birthday to him and he is singing along with us. These pictures were taken a few days after his actual birthday. His party was held on his actual birthday and he had sugar cookies for the party. And it's too hard to stick candles in sugar cookies.
